Instructions are accepted for applications of all kinds — leave to remain, leave to enter, Indefinite Leave to Remain and beyond — submitted to the Home Office and to Entry Clearance Officers.
His covering letters are persuasive and cite the leading authorities, which often produces a successful outcome at first instance without the need for an appeal.
Keeping pace with the rules
Immigration law changes constantly, and staying current is part of the work. In 2015 and 2016, when thousands of students living lawfully in the United Kingdom and hoping to settle on ten-year lawful residence grounds risked breaching 3C leave following the Immigration Act 2014 — which removed in-country appeal rights for points-based migrants — Mr Islam's research identified a route through the rules by way of SET(O) applications.
That approach saved many of those students and was subsequently adopted by other practitioners.
